The Franklin Lakes School District believes that a rich experience and knowledge base in visual and performing arts is an essential component of a complete education.   Providing a curriculum for our students in the disciplines of music, theater, and visual art is critical to their personal success.  A foundation of rich educational experiences with the arts within the context of a K-8 school curriculum is key to developing appreciation and literacy in the arts in later years.

 

Franklin Lakes offers students a rich and varied music program that aligns with these beliefs.  Students receive regularly scheduled classes for vocal music and theory complemented by a voluntary instrumental program for those who wish to pursue lessons.  Music appreciation and literacy are key components of the program and are continually nurtured by skilled musicians and teachers.  Additionally, students have numerous opportunities to develop self confidence as they participate in musical performances throughout their schooling.
