FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 12, 2022
Dear Franklin Lakes Community:
The Board of Education is pleased to announce that it unanimously approved a new five-year Employment Agreement with Greg Maceri, the district’s Superintendent of Schools. The new agreement covers the period from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027, effectively extending his employment for three years beyond the existing agreement.
The Employment Agreement provides for an initial salary of $212,500 with annual increases of 2.5%, plus the potential of an annual doctoral stipend of $10,000. It also provides that unused vacation days have no cash value if the Superintendent leaves the district.
The Employment Agreement was discussed and acted upon at a public hearing during the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting on October 11, 2022, in accordance with State accountability regulations. The contract was reviewed and approved by the Interim Executive County Superintendent before being ratified by the Board.
Greg joined our community in July 2020 and his experience helped navigate our District during unprecedented times. This Board action recognizes his exceptional leadership and the importance of stability. His level headed approach and confidence will help the Board embark on a comprehensive strategic planning process to shape the direction of the district over the next several years. The Board looks forward to continued collaboration to implement its mission of excellence in our schools.
A copy of the contract can be found on the district website.
Sincerely,
Elisa Billis
Board President, on behalf of the Franklin Lakes Board of Education
