The New Jersey Department of Education requires all school districts to report details of state-mandated and commercially-developed standardized assessments to parents and guardians inclusive of the following information: subject area, grade levels, administration dates, testing time allotted, accommodations/ accessibility options available, sample questions, access to student results, and assessment requirement source by October 1 (N.J.S.A. 18A: 7C-6.6).  When administering assessments, care is taken to provide individual testing accommodations as directed per individual IEP, 504, or ESL plans.  In some instances, scheduling is not yet finalized and more information will be shared as dates are firmed up.

As such, please find an overview of the assessments administered to students in Franklin Lakes Public Schools that are required as part of our federal, state, and local district assessment system.  All results are evaluated individually and in combination with other data to provide educators with an understanding of a student’s performance over time, and support our efforts to improve learning at the individual student, classroom, school, and district levels.
